we'll get there

#TBT to sometime like two weeks ago? When there was actually sun.

I'll try to do an outfit every week, I think it would be good for me and the blog.

Anyway, I went for another girly outfit that includes florals and skirts. I didn't want to stand out too too much so I went for a more neutral colourway.

This post was the first time I wore these sandals outside. They're actually really comfortable and you could get creative with tying the laces.

an ode to summer

Like always its been a while since my last outfit post. Today was scorching hot with a high of 25+ degrees so I thought I'd actually go out [and face the heat] to do a little photo-shoot.

This is the first time I have gone out to do photos because there's usually an empty/blank wall somewhere in my room to take photos, but not anymore. It was actually really nice being able to shoot outside and at first it was kinda odd but after the first few shots, I got use to the camera.

I guess this post is kinda like my 'remembering summer' post since I'm not sure how many more hot days we will be having since Fall is right around the corner.

Anyway, I kept it really simple with just a crop top, a maxi skirt and some comfortable sneakers.

Let's get into the photos :)

I wanted to make this outfit look more laid back so I wore sneakers and tied up the sides of my skirt. Plus I didn't want it dragging on the ground while I was taking photos.

It doesn't matter

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel like nothing is going right? What do you do in times like that? How do you deal with everything?

To be honest, I just let it out. This of course depends on the situation itself, whether it leads to me crying my eyes out, drowning it out with music or diverting my attention to something else. Usually, the option of crying my eyes out wins in most cases, but only because it's uncontrollable.

I should try to develop a stronger 'back bone' as some would call it. I just need to care less, that's it. I am one of those people who over analyze and overreact in a situation and I only do this because I care about what people think of me, whether or not they even notice.

I'm not sure where this sense of 'trying to please everyone' comes into play but maybe it's because I've always been nice to people and so they in return are thankful for me or my actions. And so the thought of letting someone down is just horrible for me and would make me feel like a failure (<----example of me overreacting). I'm also not saying that I would go to extreme measures to get a task done for someone who had asked me but if its something I can do, then it'll be done.

The only thing wrong with this is that it's physically impossible to please everyone and still be happy with yourself (unless you're a robot). In order to be happy about your life, you first have to be happy with yourself. Being able to accept who you are is the main thing, it's quite difficult to do that because we've spent years trying to change ourselves and now we just have to accept what we have and do the best with it.

I can't speak for myself in saying that I'm happy with who I am but it really helps when there are amazing people surrounding my life who make me appreciate the small things about my quirky little self. And it's odd because the qualities that others find admirable about me, is usually the things I deny about myself. It's also great that there are people who comfort me and are concerned when horrible things happen in my life (like getting a 75 on an assignment, jk/I cried still).

Anyway, I've learned to appreciate these hidden treasures and am more than grateful for the amazing people that I call friends.

I guess what I'm trying to say is people will love you for who you are and if they don't, then they don't matter.

P.S even before publishing this post, I thought about what people will think. Whatever.

the week after

Its been 4 days since graduating, and I still feel the same as I did when school was over haha.

Thank you to all the wonderful people I have met at Seneca and the numerous amount of times we have shared together laughing about school and cramming in work like there's no tomorrow. I am truly grateful for having met each and everyone and being able to expand my knowledge over the course of 3 years. Who knew that from the start of 1st year, things would just fly by so quickly... I really didn't think it would. It has been so memorable and I'll never forget those long nights and early mornings.

The 4 days so far have been filled with food, laughter and great friends.

summer outfits 2014

(time stamps ruin everything.. think of it as an "accidental" watermark)

LOOK 1
Road Trip!

A very simple and comfy outfit for any event. I kept it rather neutral with the earth tones and paired it with a cardigan for those chilly summer nights. These shorts practically scream ROAD TRIP.. or safari adventure... haha.

Details:
cardigan: Stitches
tank: F21
shorts: DIY
bag: Aldo

LOOK 2
Smell the Summer Breeze

Wearing a dress in the summer is a great way to look put together and it only requires one garment. In this outfit I tied a cardigan around my waist not only to give it a layered look but it also emphasizes the smallest part of my waist.

Details:
dress: YESSTYLE
cardigan: Urban Planet

LOOK 3
Colour Me NEON

I'm not one to wear such bright colours so here's my toned down version of a Neon look. I kept it really simple but with bold pieces, mainly the shorts and the clutch. When you have an accessory that's multi-coloured, it's easier to pair items of clothing together. I also threw on a white cardigan so it doesn't pull away from the entire look.

Details:
cardigan: Le'Chateau
tank: F21
shorts: Urban Planet
bow: DIY
clutch: Clinique Milly Cosmetic Bag

LOOK 4
But It's FREE.

This top use to be an XL shirt that I loved and wanted to give life to it. Here it is cut up and put to good use. This is more of an edgier look with the cut up top and the cut off shorts. You can always add a pop of colour with low tops [around the arm area] by wearing a cute printed bandeau/bralette or cropped tank.

Details:
tank: F21
top: souvenir from Montreal
shorts: DIY cut-offs [no idea where they're from]

LOOK 5
You're Taking Me To the Amusement Park?!

This was more of my 'date' look. A girly outfit for those more dressed up events. Again, very simple in terms of a plain white tank and a printed skirt [skort]. I fell in love with this skort as soon as I saw it and immediately purchased it. And this bag just ties the whole look together; cute, vintage and girly.

Details:
tank: F21
skort: Pacific Mall
bag: Aliexpress

Well that's all for this post, if you had a favourite LOOK, I'd love for you to leave a comment below. Mine would probably be LOOK 5, although I had so much fun putting all of these together.

Quick last note, the cropped tank that I'm wearing above [LOOK's 1,3-5] are from Forever 21 and they're only $1.80. I kinda went crazy and bought 6 [grey, black, white, coral, white, blue and oatmeal].

Buy them while you can, they're a great summer staple.

Anyway this was so much fun typing up, hope you all enjoyed the post.

till next time, take care~

WOO!!

Wow I know I always say this but I haven't blogged since the end of April and now it's mid June... D: where has the time gone?

Anyway I'm back with a (small) new post and hopefully this will kick start me back into blogging.

It's a summer outfits post!

This will just be a preview since I'm still working on the photos, but shouldn't be too long of a wait.

Enjoy and leave a comment!

Happy summer everyone.

till next next time~

routine

So after being out of school for almost three weeks now, I can honestly say it's kinda nice. No assignments and deadlines; long nights and early mornings. Just being able to sleep in and wake up whenever I want is so nice.

Anyway, I'm trying to get back to the routine of blogging and keeping the internet up to date with my daily shenanigans.

Haha here's another compilation of pictures of my last two weeks:

Random OOTD- I don't exactly remember.. wait I think I wore this to church... lol I know it's a bit too attention grabbing for church but I had my coat over it so no need to fret.

details: printed cropped turtle-neck top
black pleated skirt
long grey cardigan
heart printed tights

Lunch: I made really yummy spaghetti with cream cheese tomato sauce *drools*

OOTD- I think I was going out with Daryl ? lol I don't remember

details: white tank
navy cover-up thingy [since it's not exactly a cardigan]
blue skinnies

This, I remember wearing and where [church] I was going haha

details: white stripes cropped tee
red wrap skirt
black skinny belt
black tights

Ahh I spent the day with Rachel and we went to Orfus road for some shopping and then we had a faculty school dinner with teachers and classmates.

I believe this was Eglinton West station

Here are some of my purchases [and some that was not from this shopping trip but thought I'd show anyway]

First up: this contrast cream cardigan

details: Stitches $5 [so cheapp]

and when I say contrast, I don't mean colours, I'm talking about the use of fabrics. They combine a sheer fabric with a knitted fabric to give a bit of interest.

It's actually funny because Rachel picked this up first and it came in an indigo blue, pink, lgiht grey and this cream colour. She ended up getting the blue one and actually convinced me to get the cream one.

The back panel and the sleeves are the sheer fabric

Here's an outfit idea for this cardigan, I wanted to keep it neutral with the high waisted shorts in a similar colour family and then added a floral crop top for some interest.

printed tee- floral and Union Jack

details: Stitches $3.50

close-up

wine red crotchet detail shorts

details- Urban Planet [don't remember price, maybe $10]

I paired the two together because they have similar colours and this makes the outfit look more put together, although it is more of a casual looking outfit.

haha okay so Rachel actually talked me into getting these pants, which is funny cause she also got herself a pair.

details: Stitches $10

what really got me was the print and the length, but I do admit they are a bit too big, even though I got an XS and there is elastic in it. I'm just going to rip a couple seams out and sew the elastic a bit smaller so it fits to my waist.

I mostly got more bandeaus because of the colours haha

details: Siren's 2 for $10

the light blue one is such a pretty shade

I wanted to find a nude coloured one that would match [or close to] my skin tone, this was the closest although it's not exact and I liked the racer-back straps

from left to right: Samsung S3 wallet/phone case, Gap mustard long wallet, nude long wallet

So I bought another wallet :/ haha it is pretty huge but it carries a lot, and I mean a lot... just look at how fat it is!

details: Stitches $12.50

So the thing I liked about this wallet is that it has two sides to it.. or compartments.. whatever you wanna call it. There's this side with coin purse, card slots, bill slots etc.

And then there's the other side, also card slots and bill slots and....

a pocket or slot for your phone (Y) or a note pad haha

Here it is all filled up and ready to be used :D

Haha it actually looks so big in my tiny hand.

So these were the last pair in a size 36 [sz 6] and they were so cute I just had to buy them. They also came in brown but I tend to gravitate toward black a lot haha

details: Pacific Mall [upper level] $10

They're adorable and really comfy

Close up details

I've been telling myself and others that once school was over I was going to get a haircut. My hair is really thick and I have had split ends in my hair for too long.

Impulsively, I went and got my hair cut last Thursday.. I told them to thin it out, layer it and don't touch my bangs... lol he totally did but I mean, hey! I needed a trim

End result, quite happy with it and can't wait for it to grow out (Y)

Well that was my last two weeks summed up into photos. Lately, I've been job hunting, just catching up with friends and relaxing at home. It's been nice :)

Wow, I noticed a lot of it was my shopping haul, hope you enjoyed it anyway!
